Frequently Asked Questions
The day we receive your watch, we notify you that it has arrived safely. Next, it is processed, photographed, and categorized for the proper diagnosis. Estimates can take as few as two days from the time it arrives. However, there are times we may need to reach out to the manufacturer to find availability and pricing of necessary parts. This can add some time to the estimation process. The moment we have all the answers, we dispatch a formal estimate to your email, with a follow up phone call if requested.
The answer to this question varies based on the type of watch, as well as the type of repair. A simple battery replacement can be turned around in less than a day, while a vintage restoration of a century old pocket watch can take several months. We do our best to give an indication of the length of time required in the estimate when it is sent out. Parts on order can add another layer of uncertainty to the timeline.
If possible, we can do our best to accomodate any special time requirements. Realistic expectations are important, so we will let you know up front if we cannot meet your speicific time requirements. An old saying in watch repair is “Good work takes time”.
At this time, Watch Repairs USA is set up in a secure office environment. Because of this, we cannot accomodate walk in customers. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Shipping & Security
We require our watchmakers to review every repair so that we can be confident in providing you with an accurate estimate. Beware of companies that give estimates over the phone or email without seeing the watch. You may find that they come back to you and tell you the repair is more complicated or expensive than expected.
Absolutely. Our system is designed to handle more than one watch per repair request. Simply notate any additional watches you are sending in on the packing slip, and we will alter our records once the extra watch(es) arrive.
On the way to us (if you choose the free shipping option), the watch is insured though UPS Capital for the amount you specify during signup. On the outbound, our policy covers all outgoing packages. Coverage is limited to the lesser of the replacement value and amount specified (minus repair costs) on the inbound. Outbound, coverage extends to the lesser of the replacement value and amount specified.
We do not send out shipping boxes, because we believe the easiest shipping method is to print out a prepaid label, and tape it to a box that you may have on hand. We are continually surprised by the clever ways in which people have re-purposed used boxes to ship their watch to us.
Yes. We handle international customers frequently. The only difference is that we cannot offer the free inbound shipping. Please sign up on the home page and generate a repair number. Then, send in your watch using the lowest possible customs value as “returned mechandise”. This saves us on any extra fees.
