Water resistance is not indefinite. Overtime, a watch that was originally water resistant will start to lose its resistance due to weakened gaskets and seals or through a worn-out case. Therefore, it is important to note any damage there may be to the case and replace your gaskets and seals every few years. Additionally, the watch should be pressure checked annually to ensure it is still water resistant.
